Are you ready to learn a little more about baby teeth? If so, you’ve come to the right blog! Here Dr. Askowitz and Dr. Paralta and our dental team would like to share some random and helpful facts that can help you know all you need to know about baby teeth.

The first fact we would like to share is that the first baby tooth typically emerges from the gums when your child is around 6 months old. But, every child is different. Some kids don’t get their first tooth until they are older. But it is generally expected for a child to start teething at 6 months old. The other teeth will slowly grow into place over time and your child will have a full smile by the time they are 3 years old.

The second fact we would like to share with you is that you need to care for your child’s smile every day. You can do so by brushing their chompers with a baby toothbrush and water. You can also rub the gums with a wet washcloth to wash the bacteria away. Once they have two teeth grow in place next to each other, it’s time to floss their little teeth.

The third fact we would like to share with you is to bring your child into Oneco Dental Care to meet with their dentist. This is best six months after their first tooth erupts or around their first birthday. Doing so can help them feel comfortable in the dental chair now and in the future as well as and help them grow into the smile they deserve.
